I've always enjoyed coaching because of the relationships that coaches have with the players outside of the classroom.  To me, sports has always been a means to develop Christian character in pressure situations.  I enjoy the game, but I enjoy developing tomorrow's Christian leaders more than just teaching them the sport.  I pray that the students I have had the privilege of coaching in the past will take the lessons they have learned and use them to impact this world for Christ.

Next year will be my 7th season coaching basketball (5 years spent as head coach:  1 final four which was this year's 3rd place finish; 1 state championship as JV assistant coach)

Next year will be my 15th season coaching soccer.  (12 years spent as head coach:  1 undefeated season, 2 state championships, 12 final four appearances as head coach; 3 years assistant here at GCS).

I have been playing basketball in youth leagues since I was a young girl. I played buddy league at my school when I was an elementary student, middle school basketball for my school, and was a captain on my JV team. I continued to play basketball through intramural college teams, and I play pick up ball whenever I get a chance.

I have been coaching for the past six years. My first year was as an assistant coach to a Varsity team in Burlington NC. I have been the MS coach at Grace for the past five years, and I LOVE IT! Basketball is important to every aspect of a girls' life. It helps them stay healthy physically, teaches them to persevere when things are hard, how to take defeat in a Christ-like way and how to stay tough under pressure. There is nothing I'd rather do with my afternoons each winter than coach GCS girls basketball.
